[Solved] A running easyapache process was detected – cPanel

What is EasyApache?

EasyApache is software that installs, modifies, and validates your Apache web server, PHP, Tomcat, and other components of your web server. WHM’s EasyApache interface (Home >> Software >> EasyApache) provides an interface that allows you to select which components you want EasyApache to install. You do not have to use EasyApache, but it provides a convenient and easy method to modify your web server. Your cPanel & WHM license includes the EasyApache software.

An error encountered while updating software!! error details are pasted below:

WARNING: A running easyapache process was detected. Please wait for easyapache to finish before attempting to upgrade MySQL.

When you try to upgrade cPnel/MySQL in cPanel servers you will get message like “A running easyapache process was detected. Please wait for easyapache to finish before attempting to upgrade MySQL.”

When you try to find the process using the ps aux command, you will not be able to see any process running with the name “easyapache“.

ps aux | grep -i easyapache

Solution is, there will be a file named “AN_EASYAPACHE_BUILD_IS_CURRENTLY” in the location “/usr/local/apache/

Go to the following location:

cd /usr/local/apache/

Delete the file starting with “AN_EASYAPACHE_BUILD_IS_CURRENTLY……

Done !!! still facing problems, contact our support.
